Colocation is a service purchased from a datacenter where the datacenter
provides bandwidth, power and physical security for the customer's
personally owned equipment. Colocation customers have the option of
contracting for one or more of the following: a single server, a quarter cabinet, a half cabinet or a full
cabinet. We also have available custom data suites. It is also common for a client to have a
custom requirement for which the standard package does not fit. Customers
purchasing colocation service decide on a power requirement, a bandwidth
requirement and whether they require unattended access to their equipment.
The standard packages available for colocation are quarter cabinet, half
cabinet, full cabinet and single server. With the exception of
the single server colocation, each option includes 24/7/365 unattended
access to equipment and a secure locking cabinet within the unattended
colocation room. Prices start at $50 for a single server colocation and
increase with the size of space, power and bandwidth required. Also
available are data suites and custom layouts with cage space.
Each colocation package comes with an allotment of power fed from a single
circuit. For example, a full cabinet colocation service includes 20Amp of
power. The power service includes UPS battery backup, is fed from a triple
redundant utility power feed and backed up by diesel generator.
Bandwidth is an integral part of the colocation service. It is often cost
prohibitive for the typical client to acquire the bandwidth and networking
services they require. By using colocation, you are able to purchase this
service from our shared pool. The amount of bandwidth allotted for your
service depends on the package you have. For example, a full cabinet comes
with 10Mbit of bandwidth on a 100Mbit port. At the request of the
client, the port can be capped at 10Mbit to avoid overages.
All unattended colocation customers are given 24/7/365 access to their equipment.
This includes a security card to enter the building after hours and
biometric credentials to get into our datacenter. In addition, each
cabinet-level (quarter, half or full) customer has a lock on his equipment
door. Unattended access is limited to the datacenter lobby, main hall,
colocation and restrooms.
If you have your own equipment and would like more information on
colocation, please contact us.
